  • The Equality Project Provides flexible, community-based on the ground support for individuals with variable degrees of social needs. From mental health, addictions, social isolation, newcomers, seniors and other individuals in the community that may find it difficult to manage their daily living. These individuals often have difficulty connecting with, or responding well to, traditional community supports.

    The Project team provides comprehensive assessment, and support activities including:

    Assisting the person with housing needs as required Access to transitional & rooming houses. Accessing medical care clinics and appointments. Find access to counselling for substance abuse. Life skills support/skill building. Medication delivery/supports. Grocery shopping with staff. Social and recreational events: in and out of office client driven groups. Vocational rehabilitation support-help with finding volunteer or competitive employment. Educational supports. Connecting with disability supports. Connecting the person to existing community resources. Transport the person to appointments. Supporting and encouraging: healthy lifestyle choices, personal hygiene, short and long-term goal setting and money management. Connecting people to income assistance services-programs. Assess for medical problems-refer to local medical clinic or client’s family doctor. Justice, court and corrections support. Connections to employment opportunities. Help person to manage his/her medication if required

  • The Equality Project's commitment to timely reporting and detailed data collection

    • Monthly Reporting to Government
    • Quarterly Detail Reports; client age, gender, and region of origin to a comprehensive assessment of needs: housing, family, justice, mental health, and addictions.
    • Work collaboratively with local municipal governments.
    • Maintain a seat at the By the Name List (BNL)
    • Maintain a seat in the Case Management working group at the Community Outreach Center.
    • Join the poverty elimination group for the province.

  • We have the ability, knowledge, and experience to make significant changes happen immediately. Our working relationships with police, landlords, probationary services, health care options, the court system, and other service providers gives our team the networking ability and collaborative approach to save people's lives today and prevent further social decline tomorrow.
